The Coaching Team

Hi there. I’m Anna Tennent, qualified coach and founder of Complete Coaching Hawke’s Bay. I live with my husband Tom and daughters, Harper and Darcie, in the peaceful rural town of Takapau while my coaching business covers the wider Hawkes Bay and Tararua region.

My interest and drive has always been about people and making a positive difference.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Services from Otago University, Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Teaching from Victoria University, a Diploma in Life Coaching from New Zealand Institute of Business, and more recently I completed a paper in Careers Counselling.

Prior to fulfilling my dream of becoming a Personal & Professional Development Coach, I was employed at the Department of Corrections. Over 12 years I served as a Probation Officer, Case Manager, Professional Supervisor and Practice Leader working with a diverse group of people. A huge part of my role was motivational interviewing which is pivotal in coaching to help clients draw their own conclusions and think about things from different perspectives.

I am passionate about helping people into jobs and careers that are well thought out and planned. I work with individuals and businesses/organisations to set personal and professional goals, create better work environments and reduce stress in the workplace and home . We live in changing and uncertain times and I want to empower people to make great, well informed decisions about their futures.

Carlee Atkin

Carlee Atkin is the recent addition to the Complete Coaching Hawke’s Bay team, bringing broad interpersonal and business experience, and a compassionate and enthusiastic approach to our clients.

Carlee originally set up her career with a Bachelor of Consumer and Applied Science from Otago (double major in Marketing and Design). This served her well, but she’d be the first to suggest we needn’t be pigeon-holed by what we studied first – she knows how to pivot.

After 15 years in sales and marketing, Carlee founded her own business and marketing coaching company in 2018, helping to develop leadership and strategy within small to medium organisations. What she loved most about this work was the connections with people, helping them to understand and reach their potential, and find ways though challenges both inside and outside work.

The arrival of her little boy Toby in early 2022 led Carlee to make big changes in her own life, including retraining as a life coach with the New Zealand Institute of Business. This new career is a perfect fit, combining Carlee’s background in coaching and advising, her passion for people and her own real-life experiences of overcoming trauma and challenge.

Carlee is relatable and affable, with a big heart and a quick wit. She’s a single mum, juggling and curating a joyful, fulfilling and busy life, which is not without its bumps, so she genuinely understands the ups and downs our clients face. She’s looking forward to continuing to work with our wide range of clients to reach their goals and live the life want.

Why work with us?

We are qualified Life Coaches but that does not mean our lives are sorted and perfect or that we are experts on life - because we are not. We have own coaches to help with challenges, goals and keeping us driven and motivated.

We have both lived through rough patches, have insecurities and bad days like everybody else. We believe that talking about the deeper aspects of life and seeing the bigger picture is important. Not simply focusing on goals but also why we have goals and what we really hope to achieve in life. We both love working with people on a deeper level and have the skills to help clients close the gap between dreams and reality.

As coaches, we understand how hard life can be, especially in these uncertain times. We aim to help people get through difficult patches in their lives and also achieve dreams that may have been given a back seat. Managing your thoughts is the most powerful thing you can do.

Let us help you get you to your best self and reach both your short and long term goals.
